Frequently Asked Questions

Walking into a tattoo shop — whether it’s the first time or the 100th — is always a unique experience. To make our time together even more memorable, please read the following questions and answers below.

Please read my booking info and then fill out my tattoo request form.

Yes and no – I use numbing cream on a case by case basis. This is because numbing cream can have some unfortunate side effects. I have noticed over time that folks who use numbing cream have a high likelihood of having the ink “fall out” and this can, in the worst cases, require almost a complete re-do of the colour. Some people are also very sensitive to lidocaine (the active ingredient) which can cause the skin to swell and take on a rubbery feel, which also increases the likelihood of the tattoo not turning out the way it should.

Because of the extensive touch-ups required when using numbing cream (in most cases), touch ups that would usually be free of charge will be subject to a discounted hourly rate. I can understand this may feel unfair to individuals who are more sensitive to pain and it’s not a decision I make lightly. As a small business owner, cost and financial stability is unfortunately something I always need to think about. That being said, there are other pain management strategies besides numbing cream that can be incredibly effective, sometimes just as effective as numbing cream.

For all numbing cream and pain management inquiries, please ensure to book a consultation BEFORE scheduling your tattoo if this is a major concern for you.

All deposits are non-refundable. If you need to reschedule outside of the 72-hour window before your appointment, you may do so only once and your deposit will be honoured for the next session. If you choose to cancel your appointment, your deposit will NOT be refunded. This is out of respect for my time and finances.

Please email me at tasiyana@gravecraft.com if you need to reschedule your appointment. Please note that I require at least 72 hours notice otherwise you will forfeit your deposit and I will require a new deposit before we rebook.

I take credit, debit, and cash. Credit/debit is preferred. Please note that tattooing services are subject to GST, which is 5% in BC.

Tipping is a social norm in Western culture for services in the beauty industry. So I could say that I don’t expect them, but you may still feel the pressure to tip because of these norms. Tips are greatly appreciated! But if it’s pushing your financial limits, don’t worry about it.

Please email me at tasiyana@gravecraft.com if you need to reschedule your appointment. Please note that I require at least 72 hours notice otherwise you will forfeit your deposit and I will require a new deposit before we rebook.

I am quite understanding if there is an unexpected emergency and will move your deposit in these instances. But please be mindful that it is quite difficult for me to book clients at the last minute so as much notice as possible is appreciated.

Please please please let me know if you are going to be late! You can message me on Instagram or email me. I will not be able to keep your appointment if you are more than 15 minutes late, and as such your deposit will be forfeit. This is because I likely have another client after your appointment and getting started late would cut into their appointment time, even though I do leave time between appointments. It’s just being respectful of my time and the other client’s time.

Unless you have specific accessibility needs, please do not bring anyone with you to your tattoo appointment. The studio space is small and cannot accommodate extra people.

Service animals are always allowed. However, no other pets or animals are allowed in the studio.
